The author briefly summarizes his own experimental data obtained earlier and reports evidence in favor of the contribution of postsynaptic AMPA receptor channels to the mechanisms underlying modifications of excitatory synaptic transmission in the CNS (in particular, in neocortical and hippocampal neuronal circuits).
