5,6-Dihydropyridine-2(1H)-thiones containing a hydrogen atom, aryl, or alkyl substituent in position 3 were obtained by cyclization of fatty acid N-3-oxoalkylthioamides with bases. ©1998 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
