Dynamic modeling and experimental verification for the feeding system of a gantry machine tool based on thermal-mechanical coupling

In order to study the dynamic performance of the feeding system of a gantry machine tool in its working process, a thermal-mechanical coupling dynamic modeling method was put forward. The structural performance analysis of the feeding system of a gantry machine tool shows that its dynamic performance is affected by combined action of heat and force in the working process. Based on exploring the thermal-mechanical coupling mechanism and effect, a dynamic model was established for the feeding system of the gantry machine tool, and the central difference method was applied to solve this model. The axis feeding system of a gantry machine tool was taken as research object; the correctness and feasibility of its thermal-mechanical coupling dynamic model was verified by comparing its solved results with that of vibration experiments, which provides a theoretical basis for the thermal-mechanical coupling dynamic analysis and optimization design subsequently.
