Investigating the Statistical Relationship between Coronal Mass Ejections and Solar Flares

Abstract: An analysis is performed of the statistical relationship between coronal mass ejections and solar flares to establish the sequence of these events. Periods of delay in the occurrence of coronal mass ejections relative to the associated flare-like manifestations of solar activity are determined. It is found that situations in which flares occur several hours ahead of coronal ejections predominate. © 2021, Allerton Press, Inc.
