Structure and microhardness of rapidly solidified In-Sn foils

摘要
This paper describes the phase composition, grain structure, and microhardness of indium-tin alloys produced by rapid solidification. The phase composition of the rapidly solidified foils is consistent with the equilibrium indium-tin phase diagram. The average grain size of the foils is several tens of microns. The grains in the foils are preferentially oriented, and the microhardness of the alloys is a nonmonotonic function of their composition.
