Bodily self-awareness and the will: Reply to Power

Jose Luis Bermudez is responding to Nicholas P. Power, the reviewer of his book 'The Paradox of Self-Consciousness.' He explained that the most basic building blocks of self-consciousness are the self-specifying information available in visual perception and the information about the embodied self derived from the various mechanisms of somatic proprioception. Whether taken logically or ontogenetically, the constructive project requires finding forms of self-consciousness that can serve a fondational role.
