Plectranthus barbatus Andrews is one of the traditional herbs growing in the Okinawa region, Japan. This plant has high nutritional value and is well known worldwide. Two new abietane-type diterpenoids, 3-hydroxy-12-deacetylbarbatusin (1) and 2,3-dihydroxy-12-deacetylbarbatusin (2), along with three known abietane-type diterpenoids (3–5), were isolated from leaves of P. barbatus. Their structures were elucidated by NMR and ESI-MS spectroscopic methods and comparison with the literature data. These compounds were subjected to DPPH radical scavenging assay.
