摘要
The contribution of adhesive bridges between micro-asperities to the macroscopic coefficient of friction of two rough elastic bodies is calculated in the framework of Greenwood and Williamson’s model. An analytical expression for the coefficient of friction as a function of the mean square slope of the surface profiles, the roughness, the elastic moduli, and the surface energy, is established.
