摘要
Recent results in the field of molecular magnets and luminescent materials design are summarized. The principles for increasing the ground state multiplicity of polynuclear complexes and methods of conferring magnetic anisotropy onto molecular objects and nanoparticles are considered. The main attention is paid to the influence of the structure of coordination compounds and, in particular, the chemical structure of ligands on the photoluminescence characteristics of complexes. Aspects of the possible use of magneto-luminescent composites in biomedical studies are discussed. Further prospects of development in this field are considered.
