Use of Satellite Radiometric Microwave Measurements for Analysis of the Atmospheric Moisture Content in the Development of Tropical Hurricanes

Abstract—The paper presents examples of satellite radiometric microwave measurements to analyze the atmospheric moisture content during the development of tropical hurricanes at the initial stages and during propagation from their origination zones, as well as the reaction of the ocean–atmosphere system to their approach. The role of atmospheric water vapor as a quantitative indicator of these processes is shown.
