摘要
Better technology and process improvements are needed to improve energy efficiency, throughput, and melt loss within the secondary aluminum industry. One of the first steps is to understand our current state to provide a basis to know where work is needed. This article provides a review of current aluminum melting and holding furnaces with several benchmarks. Suggestions for potential improvements and topics for further study will be provided.
