[inline-graphic not available: see fulltext]3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-ones have been synthesized in very short time with excellent yields in the presence of 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidinium trifluoroacetate as a room temperature ionic liquid under solvent free conditions at 100 °C.
