摘要
The paper deals with newly uncovered regularities and the effect of the influence of fullerene C60 incorporated into the surface layer of an MAO-coating on the triboformation of a thin film on its surface. The regularities involve the appearance of specific nanostructures under boundary lubrication conditions; the nanostructures are based on carbon and the phases which contain iron and fullerene and are found in the thin plastic layer formed in friction. This considerably enhances the tribological characteristics of the ceramic coatings: depending on the contact pressure, the friction coefficient is 1.6–3 times lower and the wear resistance is 2.4–7 times higher than those of nonmodified ceramics. The range of the working pressure for the coatings becomes much wider.
