A contribution to the knowledge of leaf beetles of the subgenus Arctolina, genus Chrysolina (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae)

The taxonomic position of some forms of the subgenus Arctolina Kontkanen from the Urals and Altai, whose types had not been examined, remained unclear after the recent revision. As a result of comparison of the original descriptions of Chrysolina poretzkyi and Ch. kuznetzowi with morphometric indices of the Ural forms from the related subgenera Arctolina and Pleurosticha, both these species were referred to the subgenus Arctolina. Ch. poretzkyi is redescribed based on males, and the existence of the alpine and piedmontane forms of this species is discussed. Lectotype of Chrysolina cyanella is designated; Ch. teleuta is considered a junior synonym of this name. © 2008 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
