A new (flame) regime of peat combustion in an air flow has been experimentally investigated. It has been established that the rate of combustion of a peat depends on its density and moisture content, which makes it possible to refine the mathematical model of a peat fire. The mechanism of catalytic peat combustion was determined. © 2007 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
