The article shows how in the Russian sector of the Arctic, signs of intensive warming are seen. The anticipated socioeconomic consequences and risks for economic activity are summarized starting from the projections of climate change in the Arctic region made at the beginning of the 21st century. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2011.
