The term cognition encompasses the mental process such as reasoning, attention, perception, problem solving, memory and comprehension. There are numerous factors and circumstances that affect the cognition among youngsters. The present paper delves into the impact of excessive use of internet on the cognitive development process and various elements of cognition amongst youngsters. An extensive questionnaire was designed to examine the correlation between the exorbitant use of internet amongst youngsters and its impact on their personality traits and cognition. The sample data was generated by recording the responses from more than 500 youngsters from New Delhi region in India. Results infer that the various aspects of human behavior, their life styles, cognitive development, academics and well-being are being affected to a great extent. © 2017, Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management.
