Optimal statistical antenna synthesis using the near-zone field

We propose a procedure for statistical antenna synthesis using the field in a given region of the near zone. A solution of the problem of statistical synthesis is found for a receiving antenna array. That solution ensures maximum noise suppression for a given total-error value and allows for the calibration error of receiving elements. Sensitivities of the synthesis error and the noise suppression value to inexact description of problem parameters are studied. Results of numerical simulation and experimental verification of the method are presented.
