The Effects of an Applied Transverse Field in a Graphene-Like Ising Bilayer Film with Nonequivalent Planes

Using the effective field theory with correlations, we have studied the phase diagrams and the thermal variations of total magnetization (mT) in a graphene-like Ising bilayer film with nonequivalent planes, consisting of two A (spin-1/2) and B (spin-1) planes with an applied transverse field in the B plane. We have investigated the effects of an applied transverse field and the interplane exchange interaction on the magnetic properties. Many interesting behaviors, such as various types of mT curves and the re-entrant phenomena, have been obtained, depending on the selections of physical parameters.
