摘要
The paper presents the results of comparative tests of serpentine and kaolin minerals using the criteria of wear, scuffing, and friction resistance properties. It is established that, irrespective of the silicate stock type, the structure of the appearing protective layer and the mechanism of subsurface chemical modification are quite similar. The possibility is established that kaolin can serve as an equivalent substitute for serpentine.
