摘要：
Durch Fortschritte in der Diagnostik und Therapie primär maligner Knochentumoren kann heute in den allermeisten Fällen ein Extremitätenerhalt erreicht werden. Mithilfe moderner modularer Tumorprothesen können hierbei alle großen Gelenke und sogar ganze Extremitätenabschnitte wie das Femur, der Humerus oder die Tibia endoprothetisch ersetzt werden. In diesem Beitrag werden die jeweils individuellen Voraussetzungen und Herausforderungen bei Durchführung eines endoprothetischen Totalersatzes an vorgenannten anatomischen Lokalisationen herausgearbeitet. Des Weiteren wird ein Überblick über das zu erwartende Outcome sowie Probleme und Komplikationsraten gegeben.
