Simplified method for describing plasma temperature evolution in a tokamak with a growing magnetic island

摘要
A new simplified method is proposed for solving the heat conduction equation in a tokamak plasma with an unsteady magnetic island with allowance for heat transfer along the magnetic field. The method, whose efficiency is illustrated by a simple example, allows one to reduce the three-dimensional problem of plasma temperature evolution in the presence of several magnetic islands to a set of one-dimensional equations.
