摘要
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetically transmitted cardiac disease with a heterogeneous clinical expression and natural history [1]. A small but important proportion of patients with HCM develop exertional symptoms of dyspnea and chest pain refractory to drug treatment and have obstruction to left ventricular outflow under basal conditions (gradient, 50 mm Hg). Such patients probably constitute about 5% of the overall patient population with HCM at any one cross-sectional point in time. Copyright © 2000 by Current Science Inc.
