We establish the influence of long-term operation of an RVS-1000 tank for crude oil on the corrosion resistance, resistance to corrosion-mechanical fracture, and susceptibility to brittle fracture of St3sp steel from different parts of the wall and bottom of the structure. The worst characteristics are exhibited by the metal operating in continuous contact with bottom or condensed water. We analyze the corrosive action of bottom waters of the Nadvirna and Rozhnyativ oil used at the “Naftokhimik Prykarpattya” Joint-Stock Company on the corrosion and crack resistances of steel.
