Effect of Alloyed Coating Composition on Composite Casting Surface Layer Properties

摘要
A method of casting surface alloying during casting using gasified models with the formation of a wear-resistant surface layer is considered. The increase in wear resistance is due to formation of boride and carbide components by means of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis between alloyed coating components that occurs during casting manufacture. Results of comparative tests for materials under abrasive wear are presented. Data are given for material composition, structure, and hardness.
