摘要
A solid/liquid bridges the gap: Although the intermediate temperature range (150-500degreesC) is of increasing interest for fuel cell technology, suitable electrolytes were not available. A new strategy based on solids with liquidlike properties-highly proton-conducting plastic phases of acidic, hydrogen bonded sulfates or phosphates-may close this temperature gap. In this Highlight, other alternative concepts are also explored.
