摘要
Software has been written to model the SPI spectrometer, to simulate its response to Gamma-ray emission, to reconstruct images and extract spectra of significant sources identified. This software is now being used to investigate the capabilities of the combination of the instrument and the data analysis system to allow the extraction of spectra from multiple sources observed at the same time. Using input count data from Monte Carlo simulations of SPI exposures for fields containing point sources having different spectra we present both the image reconstruction, "raw" spectra extracted for the sources found, and the result of postprocessing and modelling using XSPEC software.
