摘要
In this work we present a method to perform an image reconstruction, with high resolution, of a region of interest selected from a previous reconstructed image. We have applied this method to positron emission mammography (PEM) images with the aim of separate small lesions located close to each other in a clinically acceptable time. This intends to be an alternative to the image reconstruction of the entire Field-of-View (FOV) with a higher resolution with the inherent computation time required. After applying this method to analytical simulations of two point sources with 1 mm each, separated by 1 mm, we were able to obtain an image where the two sources are clearly separated, which was not possible with our original image reconstruction procedure.
