摘要：
Wales' rich geological heritage is reflected in a wide range of natural resources that have been exploited for centuries. Located in north-east Wales, Brymbo Fossil Forest is an important Pennsylvanian (upper Carboniferous) palaeobotanical site discovered during reclamation of an extensive steelworks. Giant in situ lycophytes, stands of Calamites, and a wide range of Carboniferous fossil plants have been discovered. Through the development of strong partnerships and critical funding, Brymbo Fossil Forest and its associated industrial heritage are being developed into a major visitor attraction. The Brymbo project showcases the benefits of a Sustainable Management of Natural Resources (SMNR) approach to geoconservation and geotourism.
