摘要
This paper includes the experiments on a sliding bearing apparatus under different friction conditions, where the "periodic and aperiodic components" that characterize the friction condition were extracted to reconstruct as the friction-induced vibration (M). The chaotic characteristics of FIV were investigated using scroll attractors. The particular focus was put on characterizing the evolvement process of the scroll attractor and revealing its evolution mechanism. The results demonstrate that with friction conditions changing from boundary friction, mixed friction to liquid friction, the attractor of FIV evolves from a single-scroll attractor to a multiple-scroll attractor. The evolution mechanism of the scroll attractor can be interpreted by the interaction between the "periodic and aperiodic components" in the FIV. Therefore, the proposed approaches can be used as a reliable tool to better understand the chaotic characteristics of the FIV and to provide a step forward on monitoring friction conditions by attractor theory.
