High Heat Flux Test with HIP Bonded Be/Cu Mock-ups for the ITER First Wall

摘要
In order to verify the integrity of the first wall (FW) of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), Be/Cu mock-ups were fabricated and tested at the KoHLT-1 (Korea Heat Load Test facility), an graphite heater facility, in KAERI, Republic of Korea. These mock-ups were joined with CuCrZr for a heat sink material and three Be tiles for an armor material. There is no Stainless Steel structure and tubes differently from the original ITER blanket FW. A Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) was used as manufacturing methods at a 580 degrees C and 100 MPa for 2 hours for a Be/Cu joining. Three kinds of mock-ups were fabricated by using 1 mu m Cr/10 mu m Cu, 1 mu m Ti/0.5 mu m Cr/10 mu m Cu, and 5 mu m Ti/10 mu m Cu of interlayers between the Be tile and Cu block. The high heat flux (HHF) tests were performed at 1.0 MW/m(2) heat flux for each mock-up. The given conditions and the expected fatigue lifetime were evaluated from a preliminary analysis with ANSYS. All mock-ups survived for up to 1000 cycles except two mock-ups, in which Be tiles were detached by discharge during the test after 862 cycles. This results prove the integrity of the HIP conditions including interlayers, and more, show the stable and long operation of our facility, KoHLT-1.
