摘要
Dyes create severe environmental problems by releasing toxic and potentially carcinogenic substances into the aqueous streams. The photocatalytic degradation of Orange G azo dye in aqueous solutions under UV irradiation was investigated with different catalysts such as anatase TiO2 (AT), rutile TiO2 (RT) and P-25 TiO2. The decolorization (spectrophotometric analysis) and the Mineralization (TOC removal) were compared for the different photocatalysts. Results show the efficient degradation of Orange G with anatase TiO2 photocatalyst. Nearly complete decolorization was achieved with anatase TiO2 photocatalysis under 60 min UV irradiation. However, 36% TOC removal of OG with anatase TiO2 was achieved which is higher than that of the other catalysts such as rutile TiO2 and P-25 TiO2.
