摘要
The Slovak Republic can be considered as an industrially oriented economy and an automotive industry has played one of the most important roles. This argument is proved by the fact that Slovakia, as the country, has belonged to the biggest car producers in the world (if we consider the number of produced passenger cars per 1000 inhabitants, no doubts it is even bigger) thanks to three foreign car producers, which localized their production facilities in Slovakia - Volkswagen Slovakia, PSA Peugeot Citroen Slovakia, and Kia Motors Slovakia. These companies, with the producers of components for these cars, can be considered as the drivers of the Slovak economy. The main aim is to present a brief analysis of the automotive industry from the macroeconomic point of view. The analyses is based on the available historical statistical data but as well on own analyses using the non-parametric bootstrap method. The paper also presents a vision on potential development of the car industry in Slovakia, its statistical distribution and standard deviation.
