摘要
Energy states in coupled quantum-wells are calculated for possible application in long and very long wavelength quantum-well infrared photodetectos by transfer matrix method. Also, multi-stairs like potential barriers are employed to understand the electric-field shift of intersubband absorption by the same method. It is finding the calculated results are in good agreement with those previously reported. On the other hand, AlxGa1-xAs/GaAs lattice-matched material is used to design a new QWIP that not only provides the flexibility of tailoring the detectors for a specific spectral window but also allows the possibility for detectors to operate in two or more spectral windows.
