摘要
This paper gives a detailed discussion on the development process of engineering database system for vehicle engine. The system adopts Client/Server architecture, Microsoft Windows NT operating system and is programmed using Visual C++6.0. Background data management is based on Oracle8i system. CAD design uses large engineering CAD design software I-DEAS. Development principles of the system, support of technique, and methods of data share and transparent access for engine subsystems, such as engine body, louver, crankshaft, piston, connecting rod, pressurization etc which distributed in different physical location are also described. Documents relevant to the system, data parameters, designing guideline, and engineering graphics are integrated efficiently and logically in the management system. The implement of this system has popularizing and applicable value to solve large engineering data management and cooperating work problem associated with graphics.
