Millimeter-wave chaotic cavity detector for non metallic concealed weapons

摘要
New ways to detect non metallic weapons such as explosives and ceramic handguns in order to secure public places have to be developed. To do so, we use millimeter-waves (frequency comprised between 18 and 40 GHz) at which human body is highly reflective and clothes almost invisible. We developed a multipoint sensor based on a chaotic high-Q cavity filled with millimeter-waves. It relies on the contrast that exists between the refractivity of human body and the refractivity of dielectrics.
