摘要：
The traditional teaching methods restrict the development of students 'abilities. However, adopting a project-based teaching approach can not only allow students to truly master knowledge, but also develop their various abilities. A teaching reform based on project that is conducted for the "Environmental Microbiology" course has enabled students to understand the fundamentals of microbial treatment for wastewater, and grasp the basic skills in microbial cultivation and domestication, to acquire professional competence in commissioning and operating of municipal sewage treatment plants, and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
