摘要
Uncertainty in the business context in the present scenario is the most important concern for the manufacturing sector. Merely all the manufacturing industries are still striving to identify the opportunities not only internally but also externally for the improvements in the optimum resource utilizing and having a competitive advantage in the market. The concept of supply chain management was introduced to the manufacturing context almost five decades ago and still, there are many opportunities and hurdles on the way of manufacturing excellence through effective SCM. In the present scenario, there is one more concern i.e. environmental concern with-which the supply chain of the manufacturing industry has been impacted. The environmental concern has the main objective is to minimize the environmental impact at each stage through the effective utilization of all the industrial resources. Green Supply Chain Management is one of the best options for the manufacturing sector to have better control over environmental concerns. Besides having fruitful results, the implementation of GSCM is very low in the manufacturing sector. The present work is based on revealing the facts that why the GSCM is not implemented in all the manufacturing industries? The study reports the 16 barriers which generally affect the GSCM implementation. In addition, the barriers are prioritized/ranked to create an understanding regarding the consideration of these barriers among the newly adapters industries for GSCM. For this purpose, an attempt has been made with the help of the Interpretative Structural Modelling approach which generally ranked the variables according to their impacts on a particular problem/situation consider under study.
