Methodological Assessment of Environmental Indicators in Combined Transport in Comparison with Direct Road Freight Transport

摘要
This paper is focused on the selected environmental indicators (emissions production and energy consumption), by which the environmental effectiveness of direct road freight transport and combined transport is assessed. Utilizing the selected environmental indicators, external costs savings when using the combined transport, are calculated. Only the external costs generating from the creation of transport emissions and energy consumption for carrying out the transport are expressed. The practical comparison of the external costs on the particular transportation section is outlined in the final part of this paper.
