摘要
Liquid nitrogen can be used as cooling medium for high-Tc superconducting cables. In order to allow Liquid nitrogen to now properly under pressure, we must consider the pressure required for electrical insulation and the pressure drop of liquid nitrogen. Pressure drop is determined by factors such as pipe shape, liquid viscosity, specific gravity, and flux. It is essential to have a good grasp of these factors in designing a cooling system. As part of preliminary study, we measured pressure drops within straight pipe and corrugated pipes. Then, we introduced a round bar into each of these pipes to determine the relationship between change in pressure drop and round bar diameter. The following makes a report on our findings.
