A central limit theorem based approach to single sampling plan parameter selection

摘要
Acceptance sampling is the area of statistical quality control concerned with the evaluation of lots of items used as inputs to a production process. The most widely recognized acceptance sampling plan is the single sampling plan. One important issue regarding the use of such plans is parameter selection. Several authors have considered various approaches for selecting the sample size, n, and the criterion value, c, for a single sampling plan. A new single sampling plan parameter selection method is defined here. The method is approximate and based on the Central Limit Theorem. The method is demonstrated using numerical examples and is compared to the most widely used existing single sampling plan parameter selection method.
