A computational study of non-porous and porous liners in explosively-formed jets

摘要
An examination of the effect of liner porosity on jet properties is made using a 2-D hydrodynamics code. Various jet parameters (jet tip speed, jet density, kinetic energy, etc.) are compared. Calculations are performed keeping the mass of the liner constant and then keeping the volume of the liner constant. A standard conical geometry is used in the investigation. Material parameters appropriate for Cu and a W-Cu mixture are used. A discussion of the treatment of the equation-of-state for the liner is given.
