摘要
This article presents the paths of geolinguistic research in the Northern Region of Brazil, especially studies on Brazilian Portuguese spoken in traditional communities, that is, in indigenous, quilombola or Afro-Brazilian communities. Currently, it is possible to verify the production of linguistic atlas in urban areas of the North Region, such as the Sound Linguistic Atlas of Para -ALiSPA (RAZKY, 2004), Linguistic Atlas of Amazonas -ALAM (CARDOSO, 2004), Linguistic Atlas of Amapa - ALAP (RAZKY; RIBEIRO; SANCHES, 2017), the Ethnolinguistic Atlas of Acre - ALAC (KARLBERG, 2018), Topodynamic and Topostatic Linguistic Atlas of the State of Tocantins - ALiTTETO (SILVA, 2018) and among others. Regarding the geolinguistic work carried out in traditional communities, it was found that there are nine researches in indigenous areas and five in quilombola or Afro-Brazilian communities. In this sense, it is believed that the geolinguistic research already carried out in the North of the country offers an indispensable database for cultural, historical, social and, above all, linguistic knowledge of the varieties of Portuguese spoken in the Brazilian Amazon.
