Soft-acoustic phonon mode at the Jahn-Teller transition in LaMnO3

摘要：
The elastic properties of LaMnO3 have been investigated by means of ultrasonic measurements. The longitudinal elastic constant C-22(Ort) propagating along the b-axis exhibits a large softening around the Jahn Teller transition T(JT)similar to750K accompanied by the orbital order-disorder transition (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
