摘要
The research aims to study the diesel mixed with 10% palm oil methyl ester (B10), as blended fuels with ethyl acetate at 5% and ethanol, increased from 5 to 20%, to comparatively test with B10 and diesel in a diesel engine. The engine operated with the fuels in comparison at a constant speed of 3,000 rpm and loads. Results indicate that B10 blended with 5% ethyl acetate and 5% ethanol had not been separated after 2 months, and fuel density and viscosity were similar to diesel. Brake thermal efficiency was same as B10, but brake specific fuel consumption was slightly increased. B10 mixed with ethyl acetate and ethanol, increased until 20%, led to the continuous reduction of engine performance. However, exhaust gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide, nitric oxide, and black smoke, were decreased remarkably as compared with B10 and diesel.
