摘要
Mean fundamental frequency (F0) and F0 variability were studied in Broca, Wernicke, anomic aphasic, Parkinson, and normal control subjects, performing four speech tasks: reading, conversation, counting, and sustained vowel phonation (mean F0 only). The groups differed significantly on both measures, and a significant task by group interaction was observed for F0 mean. The higher F0 mean in clinical groups and the effect of task on performance suggest that further information is needed to understand brain processes underlying prosodic function.
