摘要
A new calorimeter for determining the isothermal and transient heat release rate of materials requiring only milligram sample quantities is being developed. The principle of operation and construction of the calorimeter are described including the determination of the incident heat flux at the sample surface and the calculation of heat release rate of the material from oxygen consumption. Preliminary results for the heat release rate of polyethylene are presented.
