摘要
Mass customization represents one of the mainstream production modes in the 21st century. The existent literature deals mainly with the transition from mass production to mass customization companies. Nevertheless there is a way for small and medium sized enterprise (SMEs) to attain this goal. The paper presents the concept Of mass customization and discusses the ability of small and medium sized enterprises, within the build to order segment, attaining mass customization, considering the core competencies and limitations of such companies.
