HIF Detection using Wavelet Transform, Travelling Wave and Support Vector Machine

摘要
The detection of high impedance fault on electrical system has been one of the most difficult problem. A New approach was developed to estimate the fault location in High - voltage power transmission lines quickly and accurately by using support vector machines (SVM) and wavelet transform of measured voltage and current signals. In which fault current and voltage signal obtained are decompose by Wavelet Transform (WT). As data set increase in size, their analysis become more complicated and time consuming. Discrete Wavelet transform is used for signal preprocessing. Initially the features of the line currents are extracted by first level decomposition of the current samples using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Subsequently, the extracted features are applied as inputs to a SVM for determining the fault zone.
