摘要
The global trend to high efficiency steam power plants requires ever more steel rotor forgings for operational temperatures at 600 degrees C and above. The European Cost programme was, and still is, concerned with the development of creep resistant 10%-Cr-steels for such applications. Beside gas turbine applications, the steel Cost E is nowadays widely used for steam turbine shafts seeing a strongly rising market share. Saarschmiede has established a fail-safe manufacturing procedure for Cost E rotors with an increasing collectivity of mechanical properties and long term data, which provide reliability for turbine design. Saarschmiede has also started the production of Cost F rotor forgings for HP/IP turbines with delivered weights of up to 44 t. To increase the application temperatures, the benefit of boron additions has been found by investigations in the frame of the Cost programme. For 10%-Cr-steel with boron Saarschmiede has produced full size trial rotors to develop a production procedure. These prototype components are now under testing. New results are presented.
